Tax Credit for Donors

You can now receive an Indiana tax credit for your donation to The Literacy Alliance.  For the first time, The Literacy Alliance is participating in Indiana’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).  This program offers a 50% Indiana tax credit to donors who designate gifts of $100 or more to our NAP project.  Donors receive the credit when filing their tax return and the credit is subtracted from a donor’s state income tax liability.  Nonprofit organizations use the tax credits as a fundraising tool to leverage their first contributions from individuals and businesses.

Gifts to our NAP project will benefit our pre-high school equivalency classes.  We work with adults whose reading skills are below 5th grade level.  At classes held at our Clay Street location and the downtown Library, we serve approximately 100 persons annually.  We primarily serve low-income adults and classes are offered free of charge.

Tax credits are available on a first come, first served basis.  Contact Jane McGraw at jane.mcgraw@fwliteracyalliance.org or 426-7323 x24 for forms to submit with your donation.

The Literacy Alliance needs your financial support. Your contribution can help us meet our goal of ending illiteracy in Allen County and help make a brighter future for all of us.

The Literacy Alliance is designated by the IRS as a 501(c )(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible. To view our financial and program information, click here. To view our current IRS Form 990, click here (Adobe® Reader® required).
